Eric A. Spencer, MD
Dr. Eric Spencer is the Chief Medical Advisor for Monarch Medical Weight Loss Center and is one of the program's founders. Before starting Monarch, he was a constant dieter and had tried a vast majority of weight loss programs. His 40-pound weight loss success serves as a motivator for many patients. Dr. Spencer is a Board Certified Emergency Physician at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center.
Richard J. Lindquist, MD
Dr. Rick Lindquist is a founding member of Monarch Medical Weight Loss Center. He is currently the clinical medical director for Swedish Weight Loss Services at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Dr. Lindquist has practiced medicine for more than 20 years. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the National Association of EMS Physicians.
Susan Hammond, FNP
Susan is one of our family nurse practitioners. Susan most enjoys the fact that she is also working on her weight loss goals which allows her to work along-side her patients as they go through similar experiences. Susan has a passion for health and a desire to help others achieve a better lifestyle and greater happiness. When Susan is out of the office, she works on her mini-farm. Susan is currently raising dwarf Nigerian dairy goats.
Angela Zacharek, FNP
Angela is one of our family nurse practitioners and has been with Monarch from the founding of the company. She knows the program inside and out. Angela has assisted patients from all walks of life in accomplishing and maintaining their weight loss goals. She has a desire to make dreams a reality for patients. In her time outside of work, Angela enjoys shopping, her grandchildren, and getting rest and relaxation in between her booked
Sue Jacobson, LPN
Sue is our licensed practical nurse. She also makes time to assist patients who call into the Patient Care Center. With healthy weight loss, Sue has been able to keep her diabetes under control. She enjoys being able to help others reach their goals for both weight loss and in finding a healthier lifestyle. “I love the rewarding feeling I get when I see the happiness on patients’ faces as they make progress and reach their goals.” Sue loves to scrapbook, go shopping with her granddaughter, and spend time with her mom.
Amy Jankowski, Patient Care Specialist
Amy is our patient care specialist. Her favorite part of her work is the time she spends interacting with patients. “I can’t wait to come to work each day because it such a great place to be!” Amy loves the amount of care that Monarch staff gives to their patients. Amy is experiencing exceptional success on the Monarch plan and uses her insight to encourage patients. Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her son and participating in outdoor activities.
Melissa Frank, CMA
Melissa is a certified medical assistant. Melissa’s favorite part of her work is going through the incredible weight loss journey alongside of each patient. She works hard to help patients stay motivated so that they never give up on their goals. When Melissa is not working at Monarch she continues to work at home as a wife and mother, but sincerely enjoys her second job! Melissa loves spending time with her family, camping, fishing, and being active.
Corrie Davis, CMA
Corrie is a certified medical assistant. She has lost 110 lbs. with the Monarch program and is down to half the weight she used to be! What Corrie loves most about her job is that she gets to see all of the successes that patients are having with Monarch. “I can’t imagine a better place to be each day!” Corrie has formed many great friendships through Monarch. She loves being part of outdoor activities. She enjoys biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and participating in marathons.
Brandon Brancato, Nutrition Center Specialist
Brandon is our nutrition center specialist. Brandon’s favorite part of his work is helping patients make choices on the food they’ll enjoy while on the Monarch program. “It is so cool to see patients of all ages come in. It is inspiring to see that it is never too late to start!” Outside of medical clinic hours, Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife, working out, and sports.
Desiree Favreau, CMA
Desiree is a certified medical assistant. Desiree loves sharing the excitement with patients as they reach each stepping stone and she is just as quick to be there as a support when patients have struggles. “I know how successful you will be losing weight on the program when you just choose to commit!” Desiree is a dedicated mother. She is committed to making healthy changes in her life. With the little extra time she has, Desiree enjoys using her creativity on art projects.
Kristen Braudt, MA
Kirsten is a medical assistant. Kirsten knows how difficult losing weight can be. She has worked to find a healthy balance with her own eating habits. She is open to sharing her personal struggles and let patients know that they are not alone. Her favorite part of her work is being able to support patients as they get healthier physically and emotionally. Outside of Monarch Kirsten is a volunteer with the Rose City Rollers. She is also very close to getting her master’s degree in psychology.
Sharlin Melton, MA
Sharlin is a medical assistant. Patients never cease to impress Sharlin with their inspiring weight loss achievements. The programs at Monarch have made it possible for Sharlin to reach and maintain her goal of losing 20 lbs. Sharlin is thankful that she works in a loving and caring environment. In her free time, Sharlin has fun watching sports and spending time with her children.
Nancy Jackson, CMA
Nancy is a medical assistant. Nancy has gone through her own personal weight loss transformation. She has lost 150 lbs. and values life more than ever now! The thing Nancy appreciates the most about her job is that she can help motivate others to stay on track to meet their goals. Nancy wants patients to know that they can do it! “The environment at Monarch is so positive and non-judgmental.” During her time off, Nancy loves reading.
Diana Lange, CMA
Diana is a certified medical assistant. After attempting and failing many diets, Diana started working at Monarch and began to believe that this was a program where she could succeed. Diana continues to work hard to live a healthy life. She loves sharing her own experience and building a relationship with patients. Diana has discovered and prepared many delicious recipes for staff and patients using the products in our Nutrition Store. Outside of the clinic, Diana enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Julie Blum, MA
Julie is a medical assistant. Since the loss of her husband in 2001, Julie has battled with her weight. She has been successful in losing weight but Julie recognizes that good health is something you have to work at one day at a time. Julie appreciates that working at Monarch gives her an opportunity to work personally with patients that she can relate with. When Julie has some spare time, she chooses to spend it with family, reading, and listening to music.

Apryl is our Executive Director.
Debbie Hembree, Patient Care Center Coordinator
Debbie is our Patient Care Center Coordinator. Debbie began as a patient soon after Monarch opened in 2006. Debbie has lost over 100 lbs on the program and her genuine passion for what we do brought her to work for Monarch. Debbie is dedicated to getting patients an appointment as soon as possible. She loves to describe the program to new patients and welcome lapsed patients back. When Debbie is not at work, she enjoys traveling with her husband. “It’s much easier after losing so much weight!” Plans are in Debbie’s future to visit Europe and Asia.
Stacey Stevens, Billing & Contract Administrator
Stacey is our insurance billing and coding specialist. Stacey is encouraged by health reforms that have allowed patients to use their insurance to lose weight and get healthy. She enjoys assisting patients in finding out their benefits. She enjoys problem solving and creating order and structure to make things more efficient. Stacey loves spending time with her husband out in nature, camping and biking. Stacey is a runner and has participated in several marathons.
